The Lone Beader asked why Birkenhead is called Birkenhead. This is because all of us – including Birk's and my before brothers and sisters – are named after towns in and around Liverpool where the boy human was born. First, there were Runcorn and Widnes, then there was Kirkby and Bebington and, Faz is short for Fazakerley.
From Wikipedia: Birkenhead is a town within the Wirral in Merseyside, England. It is on the Wirral Peninsula, along the west bank of the River Mersey, opposite the city of Liverpool (which includes the area of Everton, the boy human says Everton is really important and the best bit).
Historically part of Cheshire, Birkenhead is perhaps best known as a centre for ship building, as a Seaport and its related industries.
